The purpose of AMT is to promote transparency within the African microfinance sector and to further strengthen performance of African MFIs in order to improve the efficiency of their actions and activities in terms of poverty alleviation.


AMT acts as a discussion platform where member MFIs and rating agencies can come together to discuss the process of microfinance ratings.

AMT engages in a range of activities that are related to the promotion of transparency amongst African MFIs and further publishes a varity of information on the African microfinance sector.
