MISION II launched in Africa

09. December 2009

MISION II launched its activities in Africa in July 2009 through a pilot program in Senegal. The objective of this one year pilot phase is to support 4 Senegalese MFIs (Caurie MF-AMT Member, U-IMCEC, ASACASE, FDEA) to develop their  social performance management system (SPM) by following the approach adopted by MISION.

In October 2009, a first training of trainers session was held which was designed to give consultants and MFI SPM managers the necessary tools to align their institutional strategy.

Further to this training session, MISION-Africa held a training workshop on PPI during the second week of December 2009 (7 - 11). This training took place in Senegal and was conducted by the Grameen Foundation. It allowed institutions to accurately evaluate the poverty level of their clients and in turn enabled them to adjust their strategies and operations in order to service the poorest of the poor and those excluded from financial services.
