AMT acts as a discussion platform between rating agencies and member MFIs regarding the rating process and offers them post evaluation analysis.
When the forum was first established back in 2001, it was clear that the future of performance evaluations for MFIs and the creation of an open, competitive and professional rating market was dependent on the key players, MFIs and ratings agencies, being not only implicated in the process but also having a better understanding of the process.
This type of discussion platform enables MFIs to understand how to use performance evaluations as a management tool.
It should further allow members to share experiences with their peers on how to improve their performance.
The annual General Assembly offers members the ideal opportunity to share their experiences.
For the rating agencies, it provides invaluable feedback on areas of concern that MFIs may have with regards to the process, shortcomings of rating reports etc, which in turn helps the agencies to constantly improve their services.
